'Obama makes Nixon look angelic'

There is little more frightening to many Americans than former President Nixon and his scheming to gain and retain power. The fears were not unwarranted, although Nixon was an angel compared with several of his predecessors and successors.

The new King of Slime and Dirty Tricks is one Barack Hussein Obama, having elevated the practice to levels that Nixon never approached. Nixon, as bad as many believe he was, had scruples compared to our current President. Further, he had a respect for the country, the Constitution, tradition and the institution of government, all of which tempered his behavior.

Little Barry respects none of these. In his mind, nothing is off the table or out of bounds. For him, there are no rules, traditions or laws. His mission is too important to be sidetracked by trivialities like tradition, law or even decency. He is of “the ends justifies the means” school. Whatever gets you to your goal is proper.

Kim Strassel at the Wall Street Journal has pointed this out in a courageous article. In normal times, articles like hers should not be considered courageous or even unusual. The press always had favorites, but never have they descended to the levels of worship and cover ups that are apparent today. The manner in which they protect Obama suggests that they may dislike the current state of the country as much as Obama.

Times have changed and news outlets and reporters are threatened if they break from the meme that Obama demands. Ms. Strassel has certainly done that, pointing out the obvious about Obama:

He’s targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama’s real aim.

No one is supposed to stand in the way of King Obama and his minions. Anyone who tries will face retribution by government whose powers are truly scary, nearly unlimited and will be unleashed regardless of the Constitution or other law. The country is being ruled by a spoiled man-child who believes he is entitled to do whatever he wants. That is not correct, nor should it ever be regardless of who is president. It is not becoming nor is it within the law. As stated by Ms. Strassel:

Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn’t going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn’t deserve to be one.

Thank you Ms. Strassel for saying what too many in your profession are afraid to say. Hopefully your courage is not punished and enables others to find a backbone.
